Harriet Green OBE

As Harriet moved from her CEO/Chair role at IBM Asia Pacific to re-locate to the UK, we worked together to share thought leadership content and grow visibility on social media, primarily LinkedIn but also Twitter and Instagram.

Over a period of 18 months (March 2020 to September 2021), we planned our approach, developed a personal website (www.harrietgreen.com), ideated and co-created over 500 LinkedIn posts, including daily updates, monthly newsletters, pre-recorded videos, and live panel interviews (using LinkedIn Live). I helped support Harriet’s passion and 30-year pledge for diversity and inclusion.

Social media content needed to show great empathy to be relevant to the ever-changing situation. Over 50,000 global leaders, aspiring leaders and executives were following and looking to Harriet, as an experienced leader, for much-needed knowledge, support and inspiration. Harriet’s LinkedIn following increased by almost 15,000 over 12 months, and she was included in the list of ten LinkedIn Top Voices UK Influencers 2020. Harriet featured in keynote talks at a number of industry events, appeared on the BBC flagship programme, Question Time and featured in the Financial Times series on ‘Defining Moments’. I was able to support, coach and guide in this important work.

Having watched an FSB webinar, and signed up to my social media updates email newsletter, Huber Technology approached me to support their UK team with LinkedIn training.

Pre-training, we reviewed the social media policy to ensure that corporate guidelines were up-to-date and could be reinforced as part of the training sessions. We also audited and updated the Company Page and carried out an online employee survey to determine attitudes towards business use of social media and to guide the content of the training.

I delivered a 5-day series of bite-size LinkedIn training sessions, via Zoom, with a follow up session one month later. The follow-up employee survey confirmed actions from all attendees including profile updates, sharing content, building networks and looking at data to find conversation triggers.
