Go on, press the play button and see for yourself the power of online video!
Video has the power to engage and tell stories—to communicate—in ways that words alone cannot and that’s exactly why we love it.
Working together Chartered Marketer Luan Wise and Videographer Jon Cambourne provide a complete solution for online video strategy, production and distribution.
When putting together a video there are 5 key steps – which we’ll painlessly take you through…..
1. Development
Failing to plan is planning to fail. This important stage of the process will be a two-way process led by Luan.
What is the primary goal of the video? How is the video going to help you achieve your marketing objectives? How will it demonstrate your expertise in your industry sector? How will it make your business look, feel and sound to your target audience/s?
We’ve put together some examples of key messages for corporate videos – click here to take a look
2. Pre-production
Now we know what you want to achieve, we can look at how we go about it in detail and involve videographer Jon Cambourne This stage will include sourcing locations, seeking permissions, storyboarding and writing scripts – all detailed on a production timings schedule. Luan Wise will work with you on the preparation, whilst Jon will ensure that everything will look great as a finished edit.
3. Production
The exciting part! Jon gets to do his stuff behind the camera – setting up angles, lighting, sound etc. Luan puts up ‘we’re filming here today posters’, holds the checklist, sits behind the camera to assist with talking-heads and makes sure no one trips over anything! (We both hold full public liability insurance and have emergency first aid at work training certificates).
4. Post-production
After the shoot Jon locks himself away in a dark room with his MacbookPro. Using (as required) Final Cut Studio 3 inc. Final Cut Pro, Soundtrack Pro, Color, Compressor, Adobe After Effects CS6 and Photoshop CS6, Jon produces video edits in-line with the requirements of the project brief.
5. Distribution
Knowing what you will do with the finished video is an essential part of the development process. Where will you include the video on your website? Do you have a YouTube channel (if not we can set one up for you)? How will you promote it? Knowing the answer to ‘what will success look like’ will help us determine content, key promotional messages and possibly multiple post-production edits for the varying requirements (eg a teaser in a newsletter, a full version for in-house training). This final part of the project is the area in which Luan Wise excels – she will help you plan, prepare and distribute your video content and track it’s response.
